My name is Zahir, I head the Design team. I’m so excited to talk to you.

Let me tell you a little bit about us. As the Design team, we set the stage for the season. We shop the world for trends, research color direction & create innovative product by developing new fabrics. We work with every part of the process from designing the product to making sure the finished garment is executed properly. Of course, we don’t do this by ourselves, we work with our Merchandising teams who tell us which styles you liked the most so that we can design better for you. We also work our Production teams who make sure that colors & fabrics are developed accurately & the fit of the garment is at its best.

 While the world just welcomed 2009, The Design team has just started working on the 2010 collections, can you believe it! This month we are picking the hot new colors for Spring 2010, heads up ladies, tomato red is looking pretty strong. We’re also creating the key fashion must haves for next year.

This is the perfect time for you to tell me what you want/need/looking for. I’d love to hear from you, after all, we’re designing for you!

ruffles? RUFFLES!!

Ruffles, It's spring's hottest new trend!

The trick is how to wear it without looking like dolly dimples. While spring runway shows have head-to-toe ruffled sheer tiers, we love softly ruffled shirts over a sexy cami bra, skirts with a flippy hem, and dresses in flowing fabric that follow our curves.  Real Style, Real life!

Q: Jessica London has always been a brand known as the perfect source for fashion that works...literally. How has workplace fashion changed? 
A: Women have changed how they dress for work and Jessica London has changed to reflect that. Before, if you worked in a bank, you needed to look like a 'banker'. Now, it's more about looking professional, but with a little personal style, like separates and suits with a twist. And accessories that once seemed frivolous now seem fun. It's about lightening up the look. Most important, dress for the job you want...it really does make a difference. 

Q: If you're changing jobs, how do you know what to wear to the interview?
A: Interviews are nerve-racking enough without feeling like you didn't dress correctly. Visit the company before the interview to watch people going in and out or just call the receptionist and ask her...you'll be amazed at how much information you will get. Try to fit in, but make sure you add a personal touch so you don't look cookie-cutter. Accessories and shoes are a great way for a subtle personal statement... if you pay attention to your whole look, you're saying you'll be just as thorough in the job. 

Q: What should women buy to look fresh this season?
A: The easiest way to update a wardrobe is by adding the color of the season. This spring, orange and neutrals will be everywhere. If you have a brown suit, wear it with an orange tank top and chunky necklace, and it will look fresh and new. Or take last year's navy blazer, wear it with khaki pants and a white ruffled shirt, and you will look terrific.
