Never mind zippers as decoration; they turn garments into casual elements with applied decoration, which is less good design than functional decoration. The worst use of zippers in the plus-size garment is its placement over the abdomen. No figure is flattered by extra layers of fabric and metal in this spot, and it adds bulk to the place no plus-sizer wants to appear larger. The industry could do us a favor by banning all zipper closures over the abdomen.
